Bruno KLEIN

Born in 1959 in Bitche, Bruno Klein is an internationally renowned artist, having exhibited in New York and Hangzhou, China.

In 1995, he picked up a paintbrush and began creating paintings alongside his press work. His photo reports then took him on journeys that nourished his memory and his work: suffering, solitude, dismay, revolt, political and artistic encounters.

In 2009, Bruno quit his job to devote himself entirely to his passion. He had significant encounters with Henry Gault (drawing), Miro (impressionism and gestures) and Elisabeth Frering (free expression of forms and colors) at the Ecole Supérieure des Arts Décoratifs in Strasbourg.

Between Abstract and Figurative: Modern Impressionism

All of this learning gave rise to a pictorial tendency on the border between abstract and figurative: modern impressionism. Bruno paints directly on the canvas without prior drawing and without any photographic or other support. Memory, imagination, and the soul are the driving forces behind his creation. This way of working gives his painting an authenticity imbued with sensitivity and strength.
