Yoann BONNEVILLE

With his captivating gaze, Yoann Bonneville (2000) reinvents the portrait, depicting the faces of diversity, conveying an emotional message of unity.

Attracted to urban faces since his early childhood, this young man from Nantes experiments with different techniques and even creates his own work tools.

From face to face, YBA's paintings captivate as much for their mastery of technique as for the brilliance of their subject.

A true autodidact, he alternately uses acrylic, spray paint and superimposed collages, seeking to decipher our emotions, our gaze, our freedom, our era and our society. Portraiture has naturally become the heart of YBA's approach, questioning our humanity with passion and accuracy behind the purely aesthetic beauty of faces and the strong emotions that result from them.

YBA layers techniques whose sole purpose is to make us forget them.

"My faces, fragmented, encrusted, worn, constructed around the three letters Y, B, and A, composed of my signature, my artist name YBA, represent the DNA of my art (...) they are simply human beings at the heart of this whirlwind that sweeps us away and is called life."

Yoann Bonneville's paintings are centered on the faces of human diversity; through intense gazes, he immortalizes the times he lives in, the world around us, the streets, and the people who inspire him.
