POLA 4.0
POLA 4.0 is a young self-taught artist from Lille. Her pseudonym POLA 4.0 is a nod to the famous Polaroid format, which marked her childhood, but also carries a more personal meaning that she prefers to keep secret... Passionate about aesthetics since a young age, she hesitated after high school between fashion design and object design, but ultimately gravitated towards the world of fashion, where she would take great pleasure in expressing her creativity for several years...
Personal complications, worthy of a detective novel, cut short her otherwise promising momentum. She was then forced to stop her professional activity for several years. After a tough battle, and the return of a certain balance, she threw herself headlong into creation. Her passion remains intact, but her experiences and sensitivity direct her mode of expression towards the world of art and artistic creation...
POLA 4.0 sees her artistic approach as the visualization of what she calls her "emotional labyrinth." Her eclectic subjects, sometimes even complete opposites, actually reflect her insatiable questioning of existence. With a barely concealed ambivalence, POLA 4.0 sees above all in her approach and deep motivations a flexibility of mind, or a questioning, which she believes is a major asset in a complex, changing, and uncertain world. She strives to challenge the viewer, seeks their perspective, and provokes their own questions, but always in a subtle way, without ever seeking to preach. Eager to understand the world around her, but also the individual human being, she pursues her quest relentlessly, filtered only by her own emotions.
Strongly inspired by pop art culture and movement, Pola 4.0 has developed her unique techniques drawn from the successful combination of graphic media, image processing, and mixed media (collage, acrylic ink, glitter, vinyl, resin, etc.).
While her creations favor the appropriate use of aluminum, Plexiglas, or even wood, she refuses to be confined to a particular artistic category or to impose limits on the form of her expression.
Her iconography brings us closer to a sweet cinematic nostalgia from across the Atlantic, beautiful icons of fashion and motorsport, and the equally delightful curves of the bodies of legendary sports cars.
A dreamlike universe blending urban fantasy and absolute beauty, where lightness meets existential questioning.
POLA 4.0's work has been presented for several years in several contemporary art galleries in France and abroad, as well as at international contemporary art fairs.
