JOSEPHA

Josepha was born in the south of France in 1950. She began her career as a fashion designer, where she achieved international success. Her creative drive led her to explore other materials. Her encounter with a sculptor with whom she would share her life would be decisive. In 1992, Josepha chose to devote herself fully to sculpture. Her lively and poetic style immediately asserted itself through clay, stone, and bronze, then finally polyester, which allowed her to give free rein to her colorist's imagination. Josepha's "Women" live, move, and breathe! They are tender, generous, even ingenuous. By a strange magic, the eye becomes complicit with these women who do not pose but reveal themselves in their often disturbing intimacies. From the bronze, sheathed in silver, sensual attitudes are born, imbued with gravity or reverie. Polyester gives life to naughty Venuses with generous shapes and colors. The lace and mesh effects, the fabrics, and the accessories ensure the voluptuousness and extreme femininity of each of them. Josepha enjoys international renown. She legitimately appears as one of the most prominent sculptors of our time.
