Lis SAM

DSC03389.webp

A young Cannes artist born in 1989, Lis Sam has had a strong taste for creation from a very young age. A self-taught artist with a background in street art, he first expressed his art through graffiti, tags, and other drawings.

Later, his works took a more floral turn when he incorporated roses into his world. Lis Sam quickly became known for his refined creations and now exhibits in several galleries internationally.

It is with a desire to tell his story that he incorporates butterflies into his glass sculptures and canvases. It is also a way of symbolizing his personal "rebirth": from construction worker to international artist living his passion…

Lis Sam's butterflies are a sign of hope and prove that anything is possible. They are a hymn to freedom.

He then took an artistic turn: optical art. He creates more contemporary works, blending touches of street art.

For several years, he developed his own technique. Lis Sam echoes the long moments he spent in butterfly greenhouses in the South of France. Watching them flutter in all directions, he imagined them freezing to form his favorite characters.

Back in his studio, he began to bring his colorful portraits to life.

He then frames his work under museum glass, as if they were once again in a greenhouse.

With the different plays of light on the canvas and the distance at which one stands, each viewer sees a unique painting.
